KPMG is currently seeking a Manager/Director in Financial Risk Management - Credit Risk for our KPMG Risk Consulting practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead engagements to perform detailed analysis of financial services loan account originations including underwriting, processing, closing, post closing secondary marketing, loan documentation and collateral perfection, and quality control
  • Perform analysis of loan servicing which includes loan onboarding, investor reporting, custodial accounting, collections, portfolio retention, and loss mitigation alternatives and workouts
  • Develop strategic and tactical recommendations based upon an understanding of loan accounting rules, policies, and procedures as compared to industry practices
  • Identify and communicate technical and strategic matters to both clients and upper management

Additional Responsibilities for Director:

  • Oversee various engagement personnel
  • Regularly communicate with project sponsors and other interested client parties
  • Manage various facets of engagement including risk management, project acceptance, billing, delivery, and collections
  • Develop and sell new and existing clients, including development of marketing plans and sales strategies

Qualifications:

  • Seven years of relevant work experience and strong knowledge of Excel and VBA and/or Access/SAS knowledge is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; advanced degree from an accredited college/university and/or CFA/FRM certification preferred
  • Understanding of capital markets activities and demonstrated capability to achieve strong academic results in fields such as statistics, economics, business, corporate finance, and/or accounting
  • Knowledge of credit risk rating and measurement methodologies, loss provisioning and capital requirements, and/or credit risk management tools, and a demonstrated understanding of Basel II credit requirements is preferred
  • Strong critical thinking skills, creativity, and the ability to apply theoretical concepts to solve business problems and work independently to achieve results while collaborating effectively with colleagues across the country
  • Desire to master industry topics such as regulatory and accounting guidance relevant to advisory projects though self study and work with others in a project environment to progress up the learning curve quickly
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Additional Qualifications for Director:

  • Twelve years of related work experience in a financial services or consulting firm
  • Well established understanding of business dynamics and regulations
  • Established network of industry contacts and development opportunities
