KPMG is currently seeking a Head of US Real Estate.
Responsibilities:
- Create the vision and methodologies to guide KPMG LLP’s real estate group in response to industry best practices and the firm’s changing needs Establish policies, standards, guidelines and processes for various national real estate activities; effectively manage the portfolio of leased / owned locations and overall budget for US Real Estate
- Build relationships with US Office Managing Partners to understand business requirements, upcoming changes, and lead the discussion for a real estate solution that meets both their needs and the firm’s overall standards
- Engage with field leaders (e.g. service lines, industry, geography, etc.) across the firm to understand business objectives. Serve as single point of accountability and real estate market knowledge; communicate corporate real estate as well as workplace approaches and issues; recommend specific corporate action; organize and leverage internal resources alongside external service providers
- Establish goals and objectives for the real estate function; monitor performance towards achieving those goals by emphasizing initiatives that improve employee experience and minimize costs
- Evaluate and present opportunities for when the “Workplace of the Future” can be implemented across the remainder of the US portfolio in line with lease expirations and/or when there is an economic benefit to do so ahead of lease expiry. Assess real estate financial analysis from both a cash flow and P&L standpoint to verify that transactions adhere to corporate objectives
- Accountable for driving value-adding annual initiatives while controlling occupancy costs across the firm’s portfolio; make recommendations on annual investment plan, with a rolling multi-year view of prioritized actions for each market and/or location
Qualifications:
- 15 years in corporate real estate, real estate planning, workforce management and operations within a relevant organization, along with a Bachelor’s degree from a reputable school; advanced degree preferred
- Experience with large national and/or global footprints, operating with over 1 million square feet within a multi-billion dollar, industry leading, ideally producer oriented B2B environment. Deep understanding of real estate processes: leasing, facilities planning, real estate financial planning and analysis, project management, acquisitions/dispositions, site selection, portfolio management, potentially design and construction management, mergers and acquisitions, environmental management, facilities operations and office services
- Strong work ethic and a hands-on approach to business. Demonstrated track record of developing and maintaining relationships with internal clients, vendors, outsourced service providers and other industry participants. Possess a range of client servicing skills including identifying vision and stakeholder needs, use technology where appropriate, and an ability to think outside of the box with an results-oriented mentality
- Robust analytical and financial skills in developing, analyzing, interpreting and presenting solutions to complex business models as it relates to major project timelines and budgets. Strong leadership skills that include, vision, an ability to articulate, sell and garner support for new ideas; exude gravitas and inspire change across a broad range of business leaders
- Excellent collaborator and negotiator with demonstrated ability to quickly as well as effectively change the mindset of a mature company to create a more modern approach to the corporate rea
