KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate, Process Improvement to join our Independence Organization.
Responsibilities:
- Perform project management role by understanding requirements, dependencies, deliverables, and timeframes providing guidance during project execution, maintaining insight on project status, keeping projects on track, and recommending alternative solutions or approaches
- Analyze data and recommend actions based upon analysis
- Lead and participate in periodic, recurring, and ad hoc meetings with stakeholder groups while communicating salient information to relevant Independence teams
- Build relationships and serve as the point of contact for colleagues and stakeholder groups
- Participate in defining, documenting, and implementing process enhancements and improvements for use by internal and external stakeholders while utilizing established methodologies
- Acquire knowledge related to auditor independence regulations, including those established by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of project management and/or process improvement experience; preferably within a professional services firm or similar environment
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s from an accredited college or university preferred; PMP or similar certification preferred
- Experience organizing, planning and executing projects from definition through implementation along with the ability to work successfully on multiple projects simultaneously and with a myriad of team members
- Ability to learn and apply complex rules with intent of learning the concepts of “Auditor Independence” rules and regulations (SEC, PCAOB, AICPA)
- Organizational, critical thinking, and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret, evaluate, and synthesize large amounts of information
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and/or other project management tools
